This robot can make 300 pizzas in an hour

Watch out pizza world: this pizza robot could shake things up.
Seattle startup Picnic announced Tuesday that it has a developed a unit that can make 300 12-inch pizzas per hour and 180 18-inch pizzas per hour.

We are excited to unveil our first-of-its-kind intelligent food assembly platform. See us in action at Seattle's @TMobilePark. To learn more, visit

While the pizzabot does its share of the work, dough preparation, sauce making and baking are all done by non-robots, aka humans, according to GeekWire.
Once an order for pizza is placed, it enters a digital queue and the robot starts making the pie as soon as the dough is put in place, GeekWire explained. The system sends data back to Picnic via the internet in order for the robot to learn from its mistakes.

I visited Seattle startup @PicnicNews last week to see how their pizza robot can assemble 300 pies per hour. Here's a video of the system in action.

Picnic has launched the A.I. pizza maker at Centerplate, a caterer in the Seattle Mariners’ T-Mobile Park baseball stadium, and at a restaurant in Redmond, Wash., per GeekWire.
